林博士是一位生物学家,在新加坡国立大学(NUS)获得动物学荣誉理学士学位后,赴英国剑桥大学获得博士学位。自2010年以来,一直担任新加坡科学中心执行总裁,同时兼任新加坡国立大学(NUS)生物科学副教授,自1987年,在新加坡国立大学(NUS)开启了学术生涯。他是新加坡国家科学院院士以及新加坡生物学会院士。自 2010年起,他担任新加坡科学促进会会长;自 2019 年起,担任新加坡国家科学院院长。在国际上,他于2012年至2018年在美国科技中心协会(ASTC)任职,并于2016年至2024年担任亚太科技术中心协会(ASPAC)主席。林博士在科学学术界和业界的影响力深远。作为科学教育的主要贡献者,他倡导校内“STEM应用学习项目”,并持续与新加坡教育部合作,以推动新加坡STEM教育的发展。
Dr Lim is a biologist graduated with a doctorate degree from the University of Cambridge (England), after attaining a BSc (Honours) in Zoology from the National University of Singapore (NUS). He has been the Chief Executive of Science Centre Singapore since 2010, concurrently Associate Professor of Biological Sciences at NUS where he started his academic career since 1987. He is an elected Fellow of the Singapore National Academy of Science, and Fellow of the Singapore Institute of Biology. He is the President of the Singapore Association for the Advancement of Science since 2010, and the President for the Singapore National Academy of Science since 2019. In the international stage, he has served on the Association of Science Technology Centres (ASTC) from 2012 to 2018. He is also the President of the Asia Pacific Network of Science and Technology Centres (ASPAC) from 2016 to 2024. Dr Lim’s sphere of influence in science academia and industry is far reaching. A major contributor to science education, he has championed the STEM Applied Learning Programmes in schools and is continually involved with the Ministry of Education to evolve the STEM education landscape in Singapore.
